The Perils of Rushing Through Work

A couple of days ago, I tried to impress a new client in Italy by sending a friendly email in Italian. I used a quick translation tool, thinking it’d do the job. Well, instead of a warm greeting about our upcoming partnership, the message turned into a bizarre rant about shoes! I had no idea how it happened until the client replied, clearly puzzled. I had to apologize and resend the whole email with a proper translation.
