    Hey fellow travelers!
Has anyone here traveled on the Palace on Wheels, the iconic luxury train in India? I’ve been researching it and I’m seriously considering booking a journey soon.
From what I gather, it’s one of the most luxurious trains in the world, designed to replicate the royal travel of Rajasthan’s former maharajas.
I have a few questions and would love your input:
    Route:
I saw the train starts and ends in Delhi, covering cities like Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Chittorgarh, Bharatpur, and Agra.

Can anyone confirm how many nights the full journey lasts? And which stop was your favorite?
    Prices:
I checked the official site — fares seem to start around INR 5-6 lakhs per person for 7 nights, depending on the season and class.

Did you find it worth the price? Are there any discounts or tips for booking?
    Overall Experience:
How was the service, food, and comfort?

Does it really feel like a five-star hotel on rails?

Any tips, photos, or reviews would be incredibly helpful! I’m torn between this and a standard Golden Triangle tour, but the Palace on Wheels just seems like such a once-in-a-lifetime thing.
    Thanks in advance!

The full Palace on Wheels journey typically lasts 7 nights and 8 days, covering all the cities you mentioned. Most travelers highlight Udaipur for its stunning lakes and palaces as a favorite stop. The price is steep but many find it worth it for the luxury, unique experience, and personalized service. The train truly feels like a five-star hotel on rails, with excellent food and attentive staff. Booking early can sometimes get you discounts, especially in the off-season. If you want a unique blend of comfort and royal Rajasthan experience beyond a standard tour, it’s definitely worth considering.
