I’m pretty new to BC, moved here from Ontario last fall, and one thing that’s completely blown me away is the number of hiking trails just… everywhere. I’m living in Chilliwack and literally within 15 minutes I can be deep in the woods, surrounded by waterfalls and mountain views. I’ve been trying to do a new trail every weekend — just did Teapot Hill, which was beautiful. Only issue is, some places are hard to find info about unless you already know locals. Anyone else exploring these lesser-known trails?

Same here — I moved to Campbell River a couple years ago and hiking became one of my favourite weekend things. I totally hear you about the info gap; some of the best spots aren’t well advertised. I usually check bc local before heading out — they often post community-recommended trails or updates on conditions, closures, and even which ones are dog-friendly. Found some great hidden gems through there, like the Ripple Rock trail, which wasn’t on most tourism sites.

I’m not much of a hiker myself, but I love how accessible nature is out here. You don’t need to drive far to find amazing views or quiet spots. Even just short walks around local lakes feel peaceful.
