What are customer reviews about organising events for children with special educational needs (SEN)?

Hey everyone, I’m looking into options for a fun and inclusive party for my son who has mild autism. He’s really into video games and loves the idea of a game van, but I’m nervous about how well these setups work for kids with additional needs. We’ve had a few experiences at big venues where it felt a bit overwhelming for him, especially with noise and lighting. I heard some places actually cater to SEN children with quieter settings and more flexibility. Has anyone had any experience with that, particularly with mobile gaming setups?

Yeah, we actually had a similar situation when organising a birthday for my friend’s son who has sensory processing challenges. The Gaming Party Van turned out to be a great option. What I really appreciated is that they mention on their site they welcome SEN children and can adjust the environment if needed — things like lowering the volume, limiting the number of players at once, or just giving kids time to settle in. The staff were really patient and made the whole group feel included without singling anyone out. It ended up being one of the most relaxed and fun parties we’ve done.

I haven’t booked one myself, but I’ve seen a couple of these vans parked up near community centres on weekends. The setup always looks professional and well thought out, and the kids seem to have a blast. From the outside, it’s hard to tell how things work inside, but I’ve heard people mention they’re surprisingly calm even with lots of screens going.
