      Twitter has increased the character limit from 140 to 280 for tweets in all languages where “cramming was an issue”. Japanese, Chinese, and Korean languages will not receive the update as they can convey the same amount of information in lesser characters.

      Yes, this update was done by Twitter almost more than 6-8 months back. This update will now give much relief to all Twitter users who were unable to explain their views in just 144 chars.

      Yeah! Twitter has increased its character limit to 280 characters. After this update, the length of the posts was increased to 280 characters were about 1%. 5% of tweets were hitting 190 characters.
